DAYUM CAFE sits comfortably on Ipswich Street in Esk, offering a casual spot where locals and visitors alike can settle in with a well-crafted coffee or a refreshing smoothie. Its easy-going vibe makes it a natural pause point, especially for those passing through town or looking for a laid-back hangout away from the usual hustle.

The cafe is known for more than just solid coffee options like flat whites and mochas; it also serves up bagels and toasties that draw locals in—particularly those who appreciate a quality quick bite with their brew. The space inside is inviting and a little quirky, with funky décor touches that match Esk’s regional charm. There's a comfortable feel that encourages staying a while, whether you're here for a morning caffeine boost or an afternoon catch-up.

A notable feature that sets DAYUM apart is a playful back room where guests can relax with coffee while playing a Nintendo 64, a detail that adds a unique local personality and makes it clear this is more than your average café stop. The owners’ friendly, welcoming approach helps build that feeling of community connection that longtime visitors value.

The best time to visit is during the quieter hours, which tend to be mid-morning or mid-afternoon, when the atmosphere feels effortlessly relaxed and there’s space to unwind. It appeals largely to a mixed crowd: locals dropping in for a reliable coffee, riders passing through Esk looking for a rest, and even families or groups who enjoy the casual entertainment on offer. Those with a sweet tooth or fondness for a good milkshake will find the vanilla malt a nostalgic treat worth savoring.

Stopped in on a ride through Esk. Fantastic atmosphere and the owner was a great guy. Food and coffee was great! I'll be going down with a bag next time to buy some records and merch.

Omg. Or should I say DAYUM … the best vanilla malt milkshake I have had in a very long time. Tastes just like they use to. It was almost completely drank before I even got to my car (about 15m away). Highly recommend very welcoming and super friendly. I’m going to have a hard time staying away.

Such an incredible find! The atmosphere was brilliant, we were told to make ourselves at home while we played the Nintendo 64 in the back room. We had our coffee brought to us there and our food placed on a table while we finished the race. Coffee and food were great too!

Cool cafe. Great coffee, milkshakes and quirky memorabilia. You can play a Nintendo 64 while you wait, listen to old LPs on a record player and admire a great skateboard and pop culture collection on the walls.

Amazing little café in Esk. Drove through on New Year’s Day and ordered coffee and food. The vibe is warm, relaxed, and full of character - retro skater‑boy energy. Behind the counter—Deelong, laid‑back, friendly, and when we left, he hit us with a cheerful “Have a Dayum good day”. Love that his family are all involved in the business too. Great coffee, great food, and a memorable stop. Will be back
